Self-Care Is For Everyone
This #thankyouthursday, I am grateful for Self-Care Is For Everyone.
A few weeks ago on Instagram I saw a sweatshirt I knew I had to have. I’d never heard of the website that sold it, but that didn’t matter.
My life felt overwhelming (because it was), and it felt like the sweatshirt could be a talisman to help me through.
So I ordered, and a week later, my eagerly anticipated sweatshirt arrived…in a color I hated. Granted, it was the color I requested—but I thought “sand” would be a pale yellow, not a stark beige.
Since it was my own mistake, I didn’t really expect customer service to do anything about my problem, but I went ahead and sent an email because I was genuinely bummed and unable to wear the beige sweatshirt. (I am perhaps exceptionally sensitive to color.)
Well! The person who replied to my message could not have been kinder or more helpful. Not only did they offer to send me a new sweatshirt in a different color, they also offered to send a different size—because I’d gotten that wrong, too.
By the time the sweatshirt in the right size and color hit my doorstep, some time had passed and my life was seeming more manageable. For example, the house we’d just put an offer on when I bought the sweatshirt was now under contract and on track to close. And the same day the correct sweatshirt came, our stolen car was recovered.*
So it felt especially fitting that the message I’d been so eagerly wanting to wear was this:
WHAT IF IT ALL WORKS OUT?
I was so appreciative of my experience, I even submitted a review. With a picture.
Self-Care Is For Everyone did more than provide me with a sweatshirt that comforts me inside and out. I discovered a company that is truly mission-driven and whose team members care about their work and the humans they serve.
So this #thankyouthursday, I am grateful for Self-Care Is For Everyone. Because it really, really is.
Love > fear,

*Mind you, our car being “recovered” is not the same as it being “drivable” or “in our possession again,” but, one step at a time. I think it’s all gonna work out.
