This #thankyouthursday I am grateful for vaccines, which is to say I am grateful for science.
I don’t think the COVID vaccines are perfect—but neither is science, and that’s the point.
Science gives us the opportunity to change. Intelligent exploration is how we learn. And although I do sorta wish there was a way to intelligently explore the COVID vaccines without being part of the experiment, the truth is we are always part of the experiment.
And without experiments, without science, without vaccines, we are limiting things—and lives.
I believe the risk of science is worth the reward, far beyond what benefits me personally. And today I am grateful to be receiving a vaccine.
Love > fear,

Perfectly said!
I, too, am grateful for vaccines. I didn't use to get a flu vaccine every year - until I told my PCP that the reason I opted out each year was that I seldom got the flu and when I did, it wasn't too bad - and her response was that I could spread the flu without getting serious symptoms to others who might not be so lucky. That was my Aha! moment. At that time I was a classroom instructor and every flu season, many of my students and fellow faculty got sick while I didn't. However, I may have unknowingly passed the viruses along even though I was asymptomatic. I now get a flu shot each year, and I'm up to date on the COVID vaccine+booster recommendations - not just for myself, but for all those others with whom I come in contact.
