Unsolicited support
This #thankyouthursday, I am grateful for unsolicited support.
I was actually planning to write about my gratitude for some important voting-related resources—namely, the documentary All In: The Fight for Democracy and an excellent rap video by Yellopain.
However, my current reality is that I do not have enough energy to describe and promote those resources the way I believe they deserve to be praised. So instead, I am expressing gratitude for what happened this morning:
The baby was up way earlier than I wanted to be, so I brought him back to bed with me after I fed him, but he was not interested in sleeping further, even though I very much was. And then, without me asking—actually, without me saying anything at all—my partner got up, strapped on the baby, and took him out for a long walk.
And I slept. For thirty blissful minutes. And I showered, and ate breakfast, and even took care of a little bit of work...all by myself. The solitude was amazing, and completely the consequence of unsolicited support in a most welcome form.
So this #thankyouthursday, I am reasonably rested and very appreciative of unsolicited support. Because as important as it is to ask for help, sometimes it’s nice when you don’t have to.
Love > fear,
p.s. Okay but just because I wasn’t able to promote them well doesn’t mean All In and the Yellopain vid aren’t totally worth watching. They are, and I hope you will.
