This #thankyouthursday, I am grateful for the crisp tang of cold yellow mustard.
That is a very specific detail, because I find that when I’m having a generally meh day, focusing on something small and concrete gives me something inspiring to hold on to—something to be grateful for.
Today for lunch I made a turkey sandwich seasoned with a healthy dollop of yellow mustard straight from the fridge. And when that cold, familiar tang hit my lips, there was a moment where everything running through my mind went totally still. All I noticed was the distinctive pleasure of a beloved taste.
And I was grateful for it.
