Sources of silly joy
This #thankyouthursday, I am grateful for sources of silly joy.
There is plenty of seriousness in the world. So thank goodness there is also silliness.
Today in particular, I want to share three items that have replaced my stress with a smile (or in one case, so much laughter that I cried).
1) You may have already heard of Some Good News. I kind of doubt it needs my amplification. But John Krasinski has been a source of good humor for many years in my life, and I really appreciate what he’s up to these (quarantine) days. When I watched Episode 2 and the actors from Hamilton showed up halfway through, I grinned wider than I had all week.
2) Speaking of Hamilton, my partner and I stumbled across an episode of Family Guy I’d never seen, so this excerpt was completely unexpected. Be warned that the style of humor is not everyone’s cup of tea—but I confess it had me laughing hysterically. Like, the kind of laughter where you are gasping for breath at the absurdity.
3) Today is April 30. As in, the one day each year where it’s completely necessary to revive this silly gag, which is so relevant that I can’t risk asking you to click and will thus paste it right here:
So, yeah, this #thankyouthursday I am grateful for sources of silly joy, and I hope you get a smile or two out of the examples I’m sharing with you.
And when it comes to additional sources of silly joy, I invoke the gratitude of last week and say, “Thank you, more please!”
Or, in other words, if you have any sources of silly joy you’d like to share with me, please hit reply—I’d love to see them, too!
Love > fear,
Christina
p.s. This video on how to easily make comfortable, effective, no-sew face coverings from a tee shirt was not exactly a source of silly joy, but it did provide relief, so I figured I’d pass it along.
