Seeded watermelon
This #thankyouthursday, I am grateful for seeded watermelon.
I don’t actually prefer seeded watermelon. In fact, I forgot it existed; it’s been at least a few years since I had to navigate a multitude of sizable, slippery seeds with nearly every bite of a favorite treat.
But just because we’ve found a way to modify commercially sold watermelons to be seedless doesn’t mean they always are, and the watermelon I bought this week is definitely full of seeds. And even though seeded watermelons aren’t convenient, I can still be grateful for them.
For one thing, seeded watermelon’s inconvenient existence reminds me to appreciate the seedless experience I usually take for granted.
And also, even though it is more annoying to prepare and eat, seeded watermelon looks cool 🍉.
But most importantly, saying I’m grateful for something that doesn’t actually thrill me is one of my favorite aspects of gratitude: gratitude effectively raises our energetic vibration regardless of our sincerity.
Kind of like fake it till you make it, except, if you are consistently expressing gratitude, you’ve already made it.
Love > fear,
