Richard Rohr (+ a V-Day gift option)
This #thankyouthursday, I am grateful for Richard Rohr.
I’ve been thinking about expressing my gratitude for him for weeks now, and then yesterday I came across an interesting article that clinched it for me.
About four years ago someone told me about free daily meditations from Rohr’s Center for Action and Contemplation, and I’ve alternately read or ignored them ever since.
But for the last couple years, I’ve mostly read them, and I’ve come to deeply appreciate Rohr’s approach to a religion that I often see interpreted in less appealing ways.
And since the way we interpret old ideas has vital importance to how we move forward and create something new, I am grateful for a spiritual perspective that is both educated and inclusive.
In particular, Tuesday’s meditation, “A Fascinating Discovery,” offered the reminder that “text without context is dangerous!”—a point I hope we can all take to heart.
Love > fear,
Christina
p.s. Speaking of hearts: Yep, tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, which means today is Galentine’s day.
