Releasing Disappointment
This #thankyouthursday I am grateful for Releasing Disappointment, which is the title of a meditation I recently discovered and very much appreciate.
I’ve written before about Insight Timer, an excellent free app replete with meditation opportunities. One of my favorite teachers on Insight Timer is Bethany Auriel-Hagan, and my current favorite of her meditations is Releasing Disappointment.
Disappointment is an easily overlooked emotion, I think, maybe because it’s not always dramatic. But disappointment is definitely real, and it hurts, and it can’t be avoided. If you dare to have hope or expectation, disappointment is guaranteed to make an appearance. Probably often.
And when it does, thanks to Bethany’s meditation, I know there is a safe space to turn to, an effective way to release and transform pain into potential. Every time I do it, I have a different experience, and every experience is a healing one.
And I am grateful.
Love > fear,
Christina
p.s. I didn’t know about the Releasing Disappointment meditation when I was living through 49 Days to Real Love…but it sure would have helped!
