My baby's sweet face
This #thankyouthursday, I am grateful for my baby’s sweet face.
She’s sleeping on my lap right now, which is true a lot of the time lately. And her round little head is pressed against my body so that when I look down, I see her sweet face in profile.
This morning I asked my son for a “power hug” before he left for preschool and he obliged: He took a running start and launched himself into my arms.
This baby is a long way from power hugs; she can barely lift her head. But she’ll get there, and when she does, her face will probably not still be the pudgy pillow I am currently admiring.
It is a gift, to so thoroughly appreciate the present while simultaneously allowing for its impermanence. I am grateful.
Love > fear,
