Just a tinge of sunburn
This #thankyouthursday, I am grateful for just a tinge of sunburn.
I am on vacation with my family in a sunny place, and yesterday I covered my kid in sunscreen but accidentally-on-purpose omitted myself. I didn’t spend too long outside without cover, but my exposure was enough to give me just a tinge of sunburn.
Most people try and avoid sunburn, which I respect. It’s not like I’m aiming to get lobster red and blister. But for me, for whatever reason, just a tinge of sunburn feels familiar and warm (literally). It’s like the sun is saying, “Welcome to your vacation.”
So I’m grateful today for my pink and tingling cheeks and chest. And now, having been so warmly welcomed, I will commence with protective care for the remainder of our trip.
Love > fear,
Christina
