Hours and hours of warm tea and honey
This #thankyouthursday, I am grateful for hours and hours of warm tea and honey.
I suppose the less poetic thing would be to say I am grateful for my Thermos mug, which is also true, but feels more like a product endorsement and I still don’t have an affiliate account on Amazon.
Regardless, the situation is this: Last week my toddler got legit sick for the first time—three days of fever and then snot and coughs. No one had any fun with any of that, but it passed, as most everything does.
And then this week I inherited his illness, or at least that’s my assumption. I’m definitely dealing with a classic head cold, and, not that there’s ever a convenient time to feel cruddy, but it sure isn’t now, and that thing about moms not getting sick days is real.
However, I still have my Thermos mug from back when I lived in New York and worked in an office. It used to keep my drinks hot for hours and hours, long enough to get through a full day, including afterwork activities.
And that mug is the MVP this week. It keeps my tea and honey warm all day long, and when I refill it at night, it lets me go to bed with warm tea and honey by my side and wake up to…warm tea and honey.
Hours and hours of warm tea and honey. A small comfort, maybe, but a comfort all the same. And I am grateful for it.
Love > fear,
Christina
p.s. Amazon affiliate account or no, you didn’t think I’d deprive you of the link to the Thermos that has served me well for 5+ years, did you? It’s a winner.
