Growth mindset
This #thankyouthursday I am grateful for growth mindset.
If you don’t know what growth mindset is, please google it, or you can reference the image above (which I found here, via a google search).
I would tell you about growth mindset myself, but honestly, I don’t have time—though, conveniently enough, suggesting that you learn for yourself is a perfect example of growth mindset in action, so, you’re welcome?!
Anyway, suffice to say that a lot is changing right now, which is technically always true, but, like, it still feels like a lot RIGHT NOW:
-We are having construction work done on our house;
-Both of our cars are in the shop;
-My partner started commuting long hours to his job again;
-My own employment situation is shifting in ways I don’t fully know yet;
-Our infant son insists on continuing to grow
So, yeah. I tell you all that not for sympathy—in fact, I feel tremendously blessed that these are my “problems.” (We are able to have work done on our house! We own two cars! My partner has a job! I am able to be home with our baby!)
But. It’s also true that I have more questions than answers right now. Which is why it is so helpful to understand and embrace growth mindset.
When I believe my skills and intellect can develop and evolve, I have many more options than if I think I am constrained to what I already “know” I am good at (or not).
So right now, I am welcoming in all the options, and all the creativity, and all the possibilities—and I am grateful for the growth mindset that helps me do so.
Love > fear,
Christina
p.s. Just in case this message makes it sound like I’m calm and collected in the face of all this change, I feel compelled to assure you that I freak out at least once a day...and then tools like growth mindset help me remember everything is okay. :)
