Easy dose laundry detergent
This #thankyouthursday, I am grateful for easy dose laundry detergent.
I’m grateful for a lot more than that, of course, but sometimes it’s refreshing to focus on the simple things—I was reminded this week that “the quality of life is in proportion, always, to the capacity for delight.”*
And lately I am delighted every time I do laundry, because the last time I bought detergent, there was a different kind of bottle.
It’s always been inconvenient to deal with laundry detergent—awkwardly hefting the jug of liquid, squinting into the cap while trying to pour to the right fill line, and inevitably dripping detergent onto my hand and/or the bottle in the process.
The situation got even less convenient once a curious, increasingly mobile baby came on the scene. I’d have to set him down in order to do the laundry juggle, then dash to rinse my soap-slick hands before picking him up again.
(By the way, if you are someone who can regularly pour liquid detergent from a big jug without getting it on your hands, I applaud you. Don’t judge.)
But now!
Now there is a laundry detergent bottle that seems impossibly small for what it promises, yet indeed, it delivers. All I have to do is grab the bottle, flip the lid, and squeeze. It’s a one-handed endeavor—the baby can stay on my hip.
Also, this new style of laundry detergent uses less plastic and water, which is great for the environment. So kudos to the people who made easy dose detergent a thing. I’m grateful for them, and for ease and convenience in all its forms.
Love > fear,
Christina
