An elegant, efficient solution to a specific, low-stakes problem
This #thankyouthursday, I’m grateful for an elegant, efficient solution to a specific, low-stakes problem.
Specifically, I lost the back to one of my earrings. I have double pierced ears and have been wearing the same two pairs of earrings for many years—two sets of gold studs that I love.
But when I woke a couple weeks ago to find an earring had fallen out during the night, and after I found the stud but not its necessary backing, I decided maybe it was time to refresh the look of my earlobes.
So I packed my earrings away, giving thanks for the tiny golden triangles (technically cat ears) and moons (technically circles) that had been with me through so many life changes.
And I set out to see if there was perhaps a style of jewelry that could comfortably accommodate two piercings at once.
And there was!
My golden spirals arrived yesterday and are everything I’d hoped they’d be: secure, simple, and snug. I love that it looks like I have two sets of hoops.
There are so many complexities and uncertainties in life. When I can solve a small problem with satisfaction, it feels really nice.
Love > fear,
Christina
p.s. This is definitely the time of year I am supposed to be promoting Are You My Boyfriend? so please give it a look and consider gifting it to a friend who might appreciate a humorous and heartfelt approach to the search for a soul mate.
