A little bit of breathing room
This #thankyouthursday, I am grateful for a little bit of breathing room.
The end of 2022 turned a few things sideways in the professional/careers department, and as a result I’ve had some big decisions to consider these last few weeks.
And I’ve also had a little bit of room to breathe.
It can be tempting to push past the pausing part, to charge ahead with all sorts of action. I think there is real benefit and importance to taking action, even (or especially) in times of unknown. Action is an effective way to explore possibilities.
But so is sitting still—even if just for the space of a few breaths. Because the pause is important, too.
I am so grateful I know how to pause. I know how to return my focus to my breath, to assess when I am feeling too stressed. And I’m grateful I have the ability to wait, to reflect instead of rush.
None of us really knows what’s coming next. But as long as we live, there will always be another breath.
Love > fear,
Christina
p.s. I’m also very grateful to my newest paid subscribers—it’s incredibly rewarding to receive support from readers even before I “up the ante” in terms of what I offer here. Like, you saying you already receive substantive value from #thankyouthursday is basically the concrete financial version of telling me I’m already enough, and that really means a lot.
